The Prudnik Medical Center will be the first facility to utilize the LekRaport application in its daily operations. The application was created by specialists from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Wroclaw Medical University. The university has just signed an agreement to this effect.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

LekRaport<\/span><\/a> is an innovative tool designed to support pharmacists and increase patient safety. Developed by Dr. Artur Owczarek’s team from the Department of Pharmaceutical Formulation Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Wroclaw Medical University (WMU), the web application helps prevent, among other things, the dangerous phenomenon of non-adherence, which means patients fail to adhere to medication recommendations.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the app, pharmacists can conduct structured interviews with patients, gather key information about the patient’s health and treatment process in one place, identify medication problems and record adverse reactions, and generate visit summaries with recommendations. All of this is also intended to support the development of pharmaceutical care as a specialized cognitive service. “A service in which the pharmacist monitors the patient, their health, and advises them on preventative measures,” explains\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Artur Owczarek<\/span><\/a>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

LekRaport was developed as part of the implementation of the scientific project “Analysis of cognitive pharmaceutical services, including drug reviews, conducted on the basis of a proprietary research tool” and received recognition at the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (\u00a0<\/span><\/span>EUFEPS<\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0) meeting in Hungary. Now, the application will have the opportunity to be tested in the daily practice of pharmacists and in the care of patients at the Prudnik Medical Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Signing the first agreement is an important step towards the development of pharmaceutical care in Poland and the practical use of modern solutions supporting pharmacists in their mission to care for the health of patients \u2013 says Dr. Agnieszka Kowalska, Research Services Coordinator at the Center for Technology Transfer (CTT) of the Wroclaw Medical University.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Technology Transfer Center at the Wroclaw Medical University (WMU)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is a university unit established last year to bridge the gap between science and business and support scientists in developing commercially viable solutions. Its mission is also to encourage partners to implement innovative ideas developed by university scientists. The implementation of the LekRaport application at the Prudnik health center is one of the results of its work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The agreement with the Prudnik Medical Center is an important step for us and an example of effective commercialization, as we are introducing a solution developed in an academic environment into the everyday practice of the healthcare system,” explains Dr. Agnieszka Kowalska, Eng. “We believe the application will support pharmacists in caring for patients, and we will also collect data that will allow for potential improvements and wider distribution of the tool.”<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
