Graduates of the Wroclaw Medical University have once again proven that they are among the elite. In the autumn session of the 2025 Medical-Dental Final Examination (LDEK), they took first place in the country, achieving an average score of 152.68 (the national average was 143.24). The university also recorded a very high pass rate, with 93 of 98 students passing the test.
The LDEK is an exam that requires passing to obtain the license to practice dentistry. In the fall 2025 session, 1,340 candidates from across Poland took the exam, of whom 175 scored below 56%, meaning they failed the exam, according to the Medical Examination Center in Łódź. The highest individual score was 190 out of 199 points (one question was invalidated).
The Final Medical-Dental Examination was taken by 98 graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Wroclaw Medical University, of which as many as 93 people obtained positive results, and the best of them received 184 points.
WMU graduates have achieved podium finishes in the LDEK for another consecutive year. They also achieved first place in Poland in the 2024 and 2023 fall sessions, demonstrating, among other things, their excellent academic preparation and high standard of education.
“Success in the Medical-Dental Final Examination is not only a source of deep satisfaction for us, but also confirmation of the effectiveness of our actions. It also proves that we are heading in the right direction and that carefully considered strategies and the commitment of the entire team can produce the desired results,” says Prof. Marcin Mikulewicz, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the Wroclaw Medical University. “I believe that this result will translate into professional success for our graduates and enhance the prestige of the faculty and the entire university.”
The LDEK exam is open to dentists or individuals who have completed eight semesters of a five-year, uniform master’s degree program in dentistry. The exam is a test-based exam consisting of 200 questions (five possible answers, only one correct). Topics covered include conservative and pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthetic dentistry, including periodontology and orthodontics, emergency medicine, bioethics and medical law, jurisprudence, and public health. The exam lasts four hours.
The exam results determine the future of graduates and indicate the level of teaching at a given medical university.
